HEARING THE BELL –HOW TO RESPOND
If there is anything good about cancer, it is that there is a bell and it is loud even though it is hard to know exactly what it means. If interested see CANCER'S BELL LAP.
FIRST STRETCH – WHAT KIND OF TRACK SHOES
Those who ignore their souls (shoes) never run well; they falter and stumble and eventually they drop out of the running. Winners on their Bell Lap choose a matched pair of shoes carefully, the right is called “HOPE”, the left is “ACCEPTANCE”. Runners would tell you that they can’t perform with only one; both are equally important. They must be used sequentially and that takes both coaching and practice. Neither is as easy as it sounds and both are more important than one would imagine. There are nuances of each that apply to every segment of the lap which, when understood and addressed, will make your run easier, faster and longer.
You are confronted with a disease, i.e., what cancer can do to your body. You are also confronted with an illness, i.e., what cancer and its treatment can do to your life.
Survival Means Knowing Your Environment
In order for you to survive the cancer and your illness, I want to teach you how to interact with your new environment. I want to tune you in to changes in your body, soul and spirit, and to anticipate what to expect of yourself, your friends and family. And I want to teach you about the doctors – who they are, what motivates them and what limits them. I want to help you make a mental map of both your expectations and experiences as you are likely to travel the same paths more than once, probably amidst ever more confusion and stress. for details see CANCER'S BELL LAP
