While taking a break from blogging to focus on speaking my patients and audiences have helped me refine their message of what it takes to live victorious lives in the face of cancer. So accepting there will be some repetition I will blog a 12-15 part series on BE VICTORIOUS in the face of adversity. Victory is possible for everyone but it takes preparation. It would help if you have read CANCER'S BELL LAP or its summary on this site entitled Bell Lap Blog.
Victory takes P.E.E. The Windrunners all had it. Where does it come from? How do you get it? What is the Power it generates and the Peace and Purpose it enables? The answers are woven thru these next blogs.
BE VICTORIOUS
The diagnosis of cancer is like Germany's blitzkrieg into Poland - like the beginning of a world war in a life - on waged on many fronts but not apparent at first. The focus was all on what Germany was doing to Poland. With a malignant diagnosis the focus is all on what Cancer is doing in the body.
At first there is little conception of what Germany will do in Belgium, France, Britain or Norway. Initially there is no conception of what cancer will do to one's life, one's relationships, ambitions, dreams, employment, avocations and on and on -sleep, self image, self confidence ... Few, only the prescient, see what is coming and the tole it will take. Even killing cancer cells does not eliminate cancers stealthy attacks on so many parts of one's life. Beat off those attacks and not only will your life go better but you will have a better chance of fighting off cancer's attack on your body.
We talked about all the voices of the Dragon in Cancer's Bell Lap & blog - won't dwell on them now except to reiterate you have to hear/see all of your enemy in order to defeat it- even when you get P.E.E. Our attention here is how to see hidden in the forest of everything going on in your life and defeat it, what resources you need and roads you must take. It is all good stuff and 100% possible.
Step 1 is to decide what is really most important to you - what makes life worth living and fighting for. This is not as easy as it sounds. Take some time. Make a list. Then go back with each thing on the list and ask yourself what are the important prerequisites to achieve each goal. Distill it all down to the top 2-3 or 3-4. You need to focus on these not just to go after them but to hear/see how the Dragon is/can and will probably block your achieving them.
