PLAN AHEAD AND BE INTENTIONAL
The baton passes needs to be planned in the backstretch, then executed with words in the far corner and reinforced with your life throughout. The homestretch should be left entirely for applause. Clearly those seduced by fear and denial, never get to the backstretch or make a good handoff. The Dragon knows that and that is a big part of the reason he keeps throwing them to you........y
WOUNDS THAT MAY NEVER HEAL
Walking the hospital halls with family members after a death, I heard a litany of accolades, but also sad disappointments usually from those who had waited for, but not received, some resolution or healing of a relationship. They usually started with what seemed to be obligatory charitable words of hollow praise for the departed, and then launched into wounds delivered years before. So often they were disappointments that could have been healed by heartfelt words of understanding or forgiveness that would not have erased the past deeds, but would have limited or eliminated the repercussions. Don’t let this happen. Don’t go to your grave with any unforgiven or unrepented words tattoed on your soul, or theirs.....
FATHER WOUNDS
When you spend time around a group of men, sooner or later, someone will speak about their father. They will tell a story about him, the importance of his words and elbow to elbow mentoring and how it all influenced who they have become. One after another will speak up, but then there will be those who are silent.
When they begin to speak, it is either with anger or tears. Their stories of pain and the aftermath of a failed father relationship are so common.....
