We need to know God's purposes for healing in order to know what to do and what to expect.
Healing of every malady in this life is always temporary whether it be by our own immune system, physician's medicines or divine interventions. Since the fall of Adam life has clearly not been designed to last forever. So if you believe in designer/creator God, then one must conclude there must be another purpose than life itself. Therefore, if the predominant focus of your life is on staying alive, then your energies are misdirected and not aligned with the purposes of the designer/creator God.
It would seem that life is an opportunity to meet Jesus, discover our foibles, and our desperate need for Him. and in the process get to know Him. Then to trust Him do profoundly that we can surrender every decision to Him and in so doing experience the joy o running at His side on the unique race He has set before each of us - especially on our Bell Laps.
His purpose is not solely about you and me. It extends to everyone, everywhere and it is our commission to share the knowledge we discover and the love we experience with whomever we encounter. To the extent our focus on "staying alive" distracts us from His purposes we will have failed - and we may not find Him very near by.
It is all about knowing, experiencing and sharing Jesus. It is not about pursuing our own primary goal "staying alive". It's not even about building our faith or strengthening our belief so that we can negotiate with God and earn our healing. It's not about our agenda at all: it is about His! But He does love you and knows what you want and wants to bless you
