Review of church history including the writings of Augustine, St. Francis, Martin Luther, John Wesley and many in the 20th century healing movement reveals the undeniable truth that God is the God who heals throughout history down to the present day - and I have seen it.
However, what I have seen mor often is a misguided fascination and confusion over divine healing which distracts people from pursuing God's primary goal for them a genuine ongoing relationship with him.
While the truth is that God heals completely those who trust Jesus as Lord and Savior, He doesn't always heal them completely in this life, If one's focus shifts from knowing God to negotiating one:s healing now, you will miss out on much else of what God has for you now. Therefore. pursue God first, not your physical healing. Healing will come, maybe all or some now, maybe all or some more later.
One needs to be open to healing which is about a lot more than just the physical body. If it comes in time and space now, it is still only temporary. Lazarus died eventually as has everyone Jesus healed in the first century and ever since. Ultimate healing is always in eternity.
