17 - PRAYER FOR DIVINE HEALING

iF you believe your healing is just up to you and your doctors, then don't bother with this blog or book. But if you are wondering:

If God might have a role in your healing?

If He actually heals people in this modern age?

If you have a role in appropriating His healing and what that might be ?

Why prayers for healing have not yet been answered?

Then Chapter 11 or the next several blogs are for you because the answers to those quandaries are drawn from recorded history, and from the contemporary lives of patients.Athletes exercise their muscles to run their Bell Laps but Windrunners pray.

I learned much from my mentor and friend Dr Larry Keafauver through his book When God Doesn't Heal Now and can expand on his teachings through my own patients. I will often quote them both.

Scripture is unequivocal that Jesus is a healer. He heals out of mercy and compassion as it is in His very nature and intent. Scriptures reveal this absolute truth as demonstrated in both God's words and actions. (Exodus 15:26, Luke 4:18, I Peter 2:21, Math 8:16, 9:35 & 10:1.

God heals "every sickness and every disease among the people" (Matt 14:36) He gave the same power to His disciples "to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease" Matt 10:1, but that was not the great commission.

But He did not say He would be our genie and jump like magic at our command. So what is our role and how should we approach him?       to be continued
