Windrunners Blog

In this blog and the accompanying book Cancer's Windrunners, I want to share with you what I have learned from a group of amazing patients who journeyed with God through their cancers. They seemed to live lives of more purpose, meaning and joy — and often longer than I ever expected. Whatever was going on with them I wanted — and wanted to pass on to my other patients. HERE IT IS IN BLOG FORM.

For opportunities of a secular journey in a life with cancer, see the Bell Lap Blog.

17 - PRAYER FOR DIVINE HEALING

iF you believe your healing is just up to you and your doctors, then don't bother with this blog or book. But if you are wondering:

If God might have a role in your healing?

If He actually heals people in this modern age?

If you have a role in appropriating His healing and what that might be ?

Why prayers for healing have not yet been answered?

18 - HEALING IS FOR ALL

It is clear that healing is for all and seeking it is His invitation. Indeed, prayer is not a suggestion, it is a command:

"For I know the plans I have for you" declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." Jeremiah 29:11-13

19 - HEALING - THE UNDENIABLE TRUTH

Review of church history including the writings of Augustine, St. Francis, Martin Luther, John Wesley and many in the 20th century healing movement reveals the undeniable truth that God is the God who heals throughout history down to the present day - and I have seen it.

However, what I have seen mor often is a misguided fascination and confusion over divine healing which distracts people from pursuing God's primary goal for them a genuine ongoing relationship with him
