1 Timothy 2:1-3 (MSG) "The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know. " In Thessalonians Paul is equally straightforward "pray all the time". I sure didn't do that for the first 20 yrs of my walk with Jesus but oh what a difference it makes. Mark Batterson points out " the more you pray the more Holy surprises you will have." So true. But don't try to dictate the response time to God and don't be disappointed when you don't recognize the answer. We often mistake not yet for no or not listening.
The more PEE one has, the more victories and the more confidence. Then the longer one is able to wait, keep praying, refine your prayers and know that a Holy surprise is still coming on God's timetable.
The boldness of your prayers depends on your view of God which is directly related to your amount of PEE. What is bigger your God or your problems? Only testing God in prayer coupled with testing yourself in listening will answer that question. Is He powerful and caring enough? And are you attentive and patient enough to see His answers and diligent enough to remember them. The size of your prayers depends on the size of your God. Every time you count your blessings He gets bigger.
No amount of reading and no other person can give you confidence. Only God can do that and only when you interact with him . Victory begets victory. " The first thing I want you to do is pray." " Pray all the time "
