Ken did it well. Many marveled at just how well he did do it, and wondered just how he could. The sounding of his bell had been as strident and startling as it could be for anyone. One day he was completely well, a man of 55, actively engaged in life, family and work, and the next he was learning he had a stage IV high-grade lymphoma threatening his life in short order. He marshaled the stamina to endure surgery and aggressive chemotherapy chasing a cure and was rapidly rewarded with a complete remission. But it didn’t last long. ....
Meanwhile the Dragon didn’t quit the race. It knew that most folks slow down in the far corner and become vulnerable again to attack. So it just hung back waiting to sprint to catch Ken in deep in the far corner......
The Dragon was right there oozing with charm and deceit: Don’t believe the doctor; it couldn’t possibly be that bad; you feel too good; of course the medicine will work; you deserve for it to work; you are such a good person and have done so many good things and even prayed; show them you have grit; God is powerful and miracles still happen; Sign up for more chemo and delicious hope, then claim your miracle.....
...Ken was one of the Windrunners and he showed the world how to make a Bell Lap into a VICTORY LAP.
For the rest of his story see CANCER'S BELL LAP &THE DRAGON BEHIND THE DOOR.
Blogs on the sequel, CANCER'S BELL LAP & THE DRAGON VANQUISHED describes what separates the Windrunners from the rest, what they did, how they lived and the joy they experienced spite of cancer. They will start in May and the book will come out in the fall. In the mean time master this material so you will be ready for it . Windrunners all lived better lives - and often longer ones. Best Wishes - Run Well and in the right direction always. RFL MD
